Triple P Discussion Groups are short, small group sessions that offer parents practical advice for tackling specific problem behaviour.

 

In this Discussion Group we will discover the reasons why children’s behaviour can be difficult at mealtimes and how to encourage good mealtime habits. Learn ways to increase food variety and some strategies for coping with stressful mealtimes.

For those with children aged 2 – 12.

A 5 week parenting program to help parents of children aged 6 – 14 to set a good example of coping with anxiety, coach their children to become more emotionally resilient, and develop a tool box of strategies and choose the most effective to respond to their child’s anxiety.

Session 1: Anxiety – what is it and how does it develop?

Session 2: Promoting emotional resilience in children.

Session 3: Modeling and the way children think.

Session 4: The way you behave – avoidance and exposure.

Session 5: Parental strategies for responding to children’s anxiety – avoidance and exposure and constructive problem solving – how to promote it and maintain gains.

Sessions will take place over Zoom, Thursdays, September 21st – October 19th from 8:00 – 10:00pm

The workshop focuses on helping children learn emotional regulation skills.

This seminar deals with how to help children recognize and accept feelings; express their feelings appropriately, build positive feelings, deal with negative feelings, develop skills, and deal with upsetting or stressful life events.

Raising confident, competent children shows parents how they can use positive parenting principles to teach children important values and skills, including learning how to be independent, learning to develop healthy self-esteem, and learning to become good problem solvers.
