School Readiness and ASQ Fair

June 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Identify your child’s progress, and receive resources and knowledge on areas where they may need support before entering kindergarten.

Welcome to the School Readiness and ASQ Fair happening on Thursday, June 12th, 2025 at the Family Connection Centre from 10 – noon.

Your questions about school readiness and developmental milestones will be answered at our School Readiness and ASQ Fair. Children aged 3, 4 and 5 will have the opportunity to participate in developmentally appropriate activities while parents complete an Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).

The ASQ is a screening tool that helps to identify children’s strengths and/or areas where they may need additional support. An ASQ provides a quick look at how children are doing in important areas of development such as speech, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills.

Community partners from Parkland School Division, Evergreen Catholic Schools, Stony Plain Public Library, CASA Mental Health, Arise Therapy Services, Stony Plain Lions Club, Spruce Grove Public Library, Children’s Dental Centre, Action for Healthy Communities, GRIT, Alberta Health Services Pediatric Community Rehab, and Alberta Health Services Westview Healthy Beginnings will also be in attendance to provide resources and knowledge.

The pre-school participants will take home a bag of developmentally appropriate activities.

Preregistration is required. Because this is designed for 3, 4 and 5 year olds, we cannot accommodate older children over the age of 6. Younger children may attend, however, parents are required to actively participate with their 3, 4 & 5 year olds.
